Ottumwa Courier Tuesday July 25, 1916

The funeral service for Mrs. Hannah Louise Kruger Rose who passed away Monday at the home of her sister Mrs. H.F. Mueller, 311 Market Street will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the German Luthern church, conducted by Rev. C.G. Hansler; assisted by the Rev. J. Haeftner of Muscatine. Interment will be made in Ottumwa cemetery.

Mrs. Rose was born September 18, 1848 at Moscow, Prussia Germany and died after a long illness. In 1859 she with her parents Mr. and Mrs. J.G. Kruger came to the United States and settled on a farm at Dahlonega. On May 12, 1868 she was united in marriage to Carl Frederick Rieleder. To this union two children were born; Frederick Carl who died at the age of 16 months and Anna who died at the age of four years. In 1872 her husband died in Phillidelphia. After a widowhood of ten years she married Aug. 30, 1881 to William Rose, who passed away April 15, 1915; preceding her in death one year and three months.

She is survived by two sisters; Mrs. H.F. Muller and Mrs. William Star of Ottumwa, and three brothers; William Martsching of Ottumwa, J.G. Kruger of Kearney, Nebraska and Carl F. Kruger of Ottumwa, nieces, nephews and many friends.
