Jacob W. Putman 34 of Davenport and a former Ottumwan died suddenly at his home there Tuesday morning.

The son of Jacob G. and Agusta Mae Marshall Putman he was born in Ottumwa August 25,1923. He had lived in Ottumwa until moving to Davenport eight years ago. He was a veteran of WW 11. He was married in Ottumwa April 6, 1946 to Gladys Dye who survives. Also surviving are Geraldine, and a son Larry both at home; his father and step father Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Putman.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday of McGinnis funeral home at Davenport. The coffin will then be moved to the Johnson funeral chapel here where short funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday. The Rev. W.B. Friend of the First Pentecostal Church will be in charge. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
