OTTUMWA~~Jean Anne Peden, 66, of 206 Wilson St., died at 2:22 a.m. April 4, 2006, at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

She was born April 1, 1940 in Ottumwa to Durward C. and Mary Buck Leedom.

A graduate of Ottumwa High School in 1958, she had worked at Northwestern Bell. She was a licensed practical nurse, having worked at Manor House in Sigourney and had owned and operated Hedrick Cafe.

Surviving are three sons, James Michael (Susan) Peden of Cedar Rapids, Joseph Edward (Teresa) Peden and Jeffrey Alan Peden all of Ottumwa; a daughter, Jill Anne (Richard G.) Thompson of Oskaloosa; grandchildren, Slater, Abygail, Jacob and Sadi Thompson, Tesla Jo, Christopher J., Christian Michael and Jackson Keller Peden, Hunter and Ryan Peden, Cory and Dana Shanko, Sonny and Calvin; her mother and step-father, Mary and Warren Lowenberg of Ottumwa; a sister, Linda Pilcher of Tampa, FL; two step-brothers, David (Mary Kay) Lowenberg of Huntsville, MO and Randy (Dianna) Lowenberg of Kansas City, MO.

She was preceded in death by her father, Durward C. Leedom; and a brother, Durward Junior Leedom.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Baker officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Memorials may be made to the family.
