DEATH REMOVES AGED RESIDENT
Mrs. Mary Larkin Succumbs After Week’s Illness --
Lived Here 59 Years

Death removed one of Ottumwa’s most respected and well known women yesterday afternoon at 3 o’clock when Mrs. Mary Larkin answered the final summons at the home of her daughter Mrs. William Sweeney, 813 Church street, after a week’s illness. The funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock at St. Patrick’s Catholic church. Rev Jas. W. Bulger, pastor, will celebrate requiem high mass. The remains will be laid in their last resting place in Calvary cemetery. Six grandsons of the deceased will carry the remains of their grandmother, John Sweeney, James Sweeney, John Genochio, Joe Genochio, Will Larkin and Pat Larkin will be the acting pall bearers.

Mrs. Larkin was born in Ireland in the year of 1823 and was 89 years of age at the time of her death. She later came to America and in 1853 came to Ottumwa, and has been a resident here ever since. She was a faithful member of St. Patrick’s church.

She is survived by her eight children. Mesdames Mary Genochio, Agnes Kennedy, William Sweeney all of this city. John Larkin of Ottumwa, Peter Larkin of California, William Larkin of Red Lodge, Mont., Michael and Thomas Larkin who reside west of the city.
