Christina M. Stater 89; formerly of 117 S. Adams died today at 4:30 a.m. at Sunnyslope Extended Care Center.

She was born Feb. 27, 1882 at St. Louis, Missouri; the daughter of John and Margaret Hefner Kreutzbender. She was married to Emery Stater April 20, 1903 in Ottumwa. He died in Jnauary of 1937.

She was a member of the Royal Neighbors.

Survivors include two sons; Leonard and Edward; both of Ottumwa; three daughters Mrs. Belger of Ottuma, Mrs. Prenger of Ames, and Mrs. Dovico of Garden Grove, California; 23 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and two great~great grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Julia Jones of Richland Center, WIS; one brother Ed Kreutzbender Mason City, three step~grandaughters and nine step~grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, four brothers, and two sisters.

The service will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Reece Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen E. Morse of the East End Presbyterian church officiating. Burial will be at Ottumwa Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
