OTTUMWA — Ralph J. Sutton, 79, of 15741 74th St., died Sept. 9, 2008, at his home.He was born June 3, 1929 in Ottumwa to Ross James and Beulah Smith Sutton.A resident of the Ottumwa area all of his life, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He farmed, worked in the foundry in Bloomfield and did woodworking.

Surviving is a nephew, Roy McNeese of Kirkville; two nieces, Patricia James of Avery and Erma Kosmach of Marion; his companion, Evelyn Kinney of Ottumwa and her children, Floyd, George, Jerry and David Shafer and James Overton Sr., all of Ottumwa, and Michelle Hoffman of Surprise, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mattie Dunwoody and Evelyn Fleener.His body has been cremated.There will be a memorial service at a later date. Reece Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
