OTTUMWA Robert "Bob" F. Haines, 81, of 450 S. Ward St., died at 1:37 p.m. March 29, 2006, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

He was born October 20, 1924 in Osceola to Elmer Jerome and Jennie Lucille Collins Haines. He married Fawn Deer Nesbit April 29, 1944. She preceded him in death January 20, 1995. He married Betty Huddleston January 19, 1996.

He had worked at Ottumwa Water Works for 27 years, retiring May 29, 1986. He attended Way of Peace Ministries. He enjoyed camping, playing violin at church, woodworking and being with his family.

Surviving is his wife; a son, Rick (Sheryl) Haines of Ottumwa; a daughter, Neila (Danny) Sheumaker of Ottumwa; two step-sons, Bob (Lael) Huddleston of Fremont and Dennis (Marcia) Huddleston of Ottumwa; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bernard D. Haines; and a sister, Naomi Williams.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. LuEllen Worth officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
