— HEDRICK Elmer Ray Harnden, 55, of Hedrick, died April 11, 2006, at the Keokuk County Health
Center in Sigourney.

He was born September 22, 1950 in Iowa City to Thomas and Alice Louise Parker Harnden. He married Sharon Lathrop on December 5, 1988.

He had served in the Army and the 3654th Maintenance Company Iowa National Guard, having served in Desert Storm. He had worked at Falco and Excel.

Surviving is his wife; three daughters, Le Ann (B.J.) Hagen of Milo, Jennifer (Brent) Roberts of Klemme, Melissa (Vern) Maxon of Des Moines; two step-daughters, Cheryl (Tony) Deutschle and Jennifer Lanman both of Hedrick; two step-sons, Richard Shilling of Hedrick and Phillip (Nikki) Shilling II of Oskaloosa; 16 grandchildren; five brothers, Tom and Walter Harnden both of Albia, Chester Harnden of Kirkville, Ron Harnden of Ottumwa, Roy Harnden of Des Moines; three sisters, Mary Parcel of Moravia, Lucille Sleeth of Bloomfield and Ruth Courtney of Albia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Erma Conner; three half-brothers; and a half-sister.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Kim Gates officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Divide Cemetery near Avery with military services conducted by Iowa National Guard.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Friday with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice, 312 E. Alta Vista, Ottumwa, IA 52501.
