OTTUMWA — Zelpha Baird, 96, of Palmdale Calif., formerly of Ottumwa and San Diego, Calif., died June 19, 2008.She was born June 27, 1911 in Kirksville, Mo. to Guy and Daisy Bundy Beach. She married Paul Baird Aug. 21, 1951. He preceded her in death March 8, 1964.She had worked at Sears and Roebuck in Ottumwa, Butler and Baird in Ottumwa and she and her husband had owned a television and appliance store in San Diego, Calif. She had also been a bookkeeper for Robert Hall Clothes in San Diego. She was a member of East End Presbyterian Church in Ottumwa.She was preceded in death by one sister, Lenora Tulley; and two brothers, Louis and Howard Beach.She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.Graveside services and burial will be 1 p.m. Monday at Ottumwa Cemetery with Rev. Kate Stangl officiating.Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday.Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
