Donald L. Bottorff 70 of 704 Riverside Lane died Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. He had been in poor health and had entered the hospital about two weeks ago.

He was a Milwaukee Railroad fireman from 1927 until his retirement in 1951. During a leave of absence, from 1943 till 1945 he was a Serviceman overseas.
A son Robert died in WW II.

Born December 4, 1897 at Keokuk County, he was the son of Thomas and Frances Bottorff. He resided in Ottumwa most of his life.

Survivors include his widow Belva; one daughter; Mr. Leo Ulrich of Des Moines and several grandchildren. His first wife preceded him in death.

Services for Donald Bottorff will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Traul Funeral home. The Rev. Stanley Woeste of the First Methodist church will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery with graveside rites conducted by the American Legion. Pallbeareres will be Ed Cook, Dr. W.C. Richards, Don Sales, Cliff Riley, Oscar Nelson, and Jim Olinger.
