OTTUMWA — Mary Elizabeth Glasford Bukowski, 82, of 619 W. Finley, was called home to heaven May 28, 2008, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.Mary was born on March 16, 1926 in Munterville, Iowa, the daughter of William and Nettie Williams Keyes. Mary was united in marriage to Harold E. Glasford on June 10, 1943 in Unionville, Mo. He preceded her in death July 21, 1970. Mary and Harold raised five children, and they enjoyed camping and fishing with their children and raising them as a close-knit family.She married James Bukowski Sr. April 20, 1974. Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed the outdoors and her flowers. Mary was the very best mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always had a smile on her face and a positive attitude. She was always encouraging to all of us and had a kind word for everyone. She always thought of others before herself.Mary is survived by her husband, Jim; her children, Larry (Marianne) Glasford of Colfax, Iowa, Richard (Linda) Glasford of Johnston, Iowa, Frances (John) Lehman of Hollister, Mo., Cynthia Glasford of Ottumwa, Iowa, Gary (Carol) Glasford of Norwalk, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; her husband’s children, Michael (Diane) Bukowski of Houston, Texas, James (Marcelin) Bukowski Jr., Karen Bukowski, Michelle (Scott) Chapman and Cindy Leedom, all of Ottumwa.She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Viola Keyes, Cleo Whitson, Ruth Clark, Susan Davis, Grace Keyes; three brothers, Bill, John and Harry Keyes; and twin granddaughters.Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Gary Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.Memorials may be directed to The Salvation Army or Hospice, 312 E.
