Martin Poncy 59, died at his home, 1922 Mabel St., Sunday at 4:45 p.m.

He was the son of James Madison and Margaret Ellen Poncy and was born in Wapello County July 5, 1878. He had lived in Ottumwa for the last 50 years. He was married to Ida Lee Tomlinson Feb 5, 1901.

Surviving are his wife; five daughters; Mrs. Edna Knight, Mrs. Lola Ruby, and Mrs.Margaret Stevens of Ottumwa and Darlene and Arlene Poncy at home; five sons; Clarence, Harold, Elmer, Oscar and Paul all of Ottumwa; five sisters; Mrs. Rosa Jones, Mrs. Cora Hobbs, Mrs. Nora Thompson, Mrs. Bertha DeWitt, and Mrs. Minnie Shepherd of Ottumwa.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a daughter.

Services will be Tuesday at Johnson Funeral Chapel
conducted by the Rev. Charles Leaning. Burial will be at Shaul Cemetery. Pallbearers will be; Floyd Thompson, Eritt Boyer, Jesse Shepherd, Edward Jones, Lester Hobbs and Charles Poncy.
