WIDOW OF CIVIL WAR VET DIES

Mrs. Ellen Margaret Poncy, 86 of Riverview Addition died at her home at 8 a.m. today.She was the widow of James Madison Poncy, a Civil War Veteran, and a resident of Ottumwa for the last fifty years.

Mrs. Poncy was born in Indiana Aprill 11, 1850. She had been a member of the Christian Church practicaly all her life.

Surviving are five daughters Mrs. Cora Hobbs, Mrs. Minnie Shepherd, Mrs. Bertha De Witt, Mrs. Rosa Jones, and Mrs. Nora Thompson all of Ottumwa; two sons, John and Mart of Ottumwa,one sister Mrs. Elizabeth Burdick of Moore, Oklahoma, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Burial will be at Shaul Cemetery.
