OTTUMWA — Funeral Mass for Rosemary A. Flahive was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at the Church of St. Benedict in Broken Arrow, Okla. Celebrant was Father Joe Townsend. Entombment was in the Mausoleum at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.

Rosemary A. Flahive was born Jan. 20, 1925 in Ottumwa, Iowa one of triplet daughters of David Peter and Kathryn Elizabeth (Denefe) Herber.She died at Southcrest Hospital in Tulsa on Friday, March 21, 2008. She was 83 years of age.

The former Miss Rosemary Herber was a graduate of Ottumwa High School. She attended Ottumwa Heights College and graduated from Iowa Success Business School. She was a secretary for John Morrell Company for some 11 years.

Rosemary was married to Lou Duane Zaring of Albia, Iowa on July 31, 1947 in Ottumwa, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1953. She married Bernard Paul Flahive on June 22, 1963 in Ottumwa, Iowa. They lived in Ottumwa, Iowa until 1973, when they moved to Moline, Ill. and then to Broken Arrow, Okla. in 1995. Rosemary enjoyed shopping, sewing, dancing and was an avid bridge player. She attended St. Benedict Catholic Church, Broken Arrow, Okla.She is survived by her husband, Paul Flahive, Broken Arrow, Okla.; her daughter, Janet and husband, Tony DeSmet, Broken Arrow, Okla.; her grandson, Todd and wife, Leslie DeSmet, Broken Arrow, Okla.; her granddaughter, Lisa DeSmet, Edmond, Okla.; and two great-grandsons, Tyler and Trent DeSmet, Broken Arrow, Okla.Rosemary was a triplet and was preceded in death by triplet sisters, Mary Kay Eck and Mary Louise Rubel.
