OTTUMWA — Mildred C. Yochum, 92, of Wheeling, Ill., formerly of Ottumwa, died March 21, 2008, at Addolorata Villa in Wheeling, Ill.

She was born Sept. 23, 1915, in Milo, Iowa, to John A. and Clara Dieters Konrad. She married Joseph “Pete” Yochum on Sept. 2, 1936. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2003.A resident of Ottumwa until 1937 when she moved to Des Moines where she resided until 2004, except for 20 years, she and her husband lived in Forsythe, Mo. She moved to Wheeling, Ill., to be close to her daughter in 2004.She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society and St. Joseph Academy Guild all in Des Moines. She was an avid bridge player.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary Anne (Tony) La Passo of Glenview, Ill., Kathleen (Steven Cox) Yochum of Boise, Idaho, and Jeanne (Richard) Kinsella of Fairfield and son, Patrick (Elione) Yochum of Santa Barbara, Calif.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Patty Mc Dermott of Coralville.She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Mulcahy, and a brother, Edward Konrad.

Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ottumwa with Rev. John Spiegel officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.Visitation is open after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Reece Funeral Home with a Christian Wake Service at 7 p.m. Tuesday followed by family visitation until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Addolorta Villa in Wheeling, Ill. or the Alzheimer’s Association.
