July 24, 1948Charles Numan Hudson 71, of 907 South Milner Street died at the St. Joseph's Hospital here at 2:25 p.m. Saturday. He had resided in ottumwa for his entire life.
He was born in Illinois; son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hudson.
Surviving are an adopted son Riley Hudson of Buffalo, Iowa, a foster son James Hartley of Ottumwa; a sister; Mrs. Mary Langford of Ottumwa, and four grandchildren.
His wife Mary Elizabeth preceded him in death in 1940.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. A.O. Smith of the Ward Street Gospel Hall officiating.Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
Transcriber note ~His wife Mary Elizabeth was born Mary Phillips daughter of Mary Eizabeth McDermott and James Matthew Phillips; also parents of my grandmother Anna Phillips Lanigan who is buried at Calvary Cemetery.
