OTTUMWA — Henry L. Fabritz, Jr. of Surprise, Ariz., died peacefully at the age of 82, on March 7, 2008, after spending time with his loving family.

He was born in Ottumwa, Iowa to Henry and Helen Fabritz Sr. Following graduation from Ottumwa High School, he served in the United States Air Force and then earned his pre-law degree from St. Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa. He went on to attend Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, where he earned his Juris Doctorate. He was a member of the Iowa State Bar, admitted to practice before the Iowa Supreme Court.While attending St. Ambrose College, he met and later married his wife, Madeleine (Faure) Fabritz in Worland, Wyo. The couple eventually settled in West Des Moines, Iowa where they raised their five children. Hank was employed with Ruan Transportation, working in association with the Commerce Commission and the Iowa Department of Transportation. Over his tenure at Ruan, he received numerous awards and honors. Upon his retirement, he and his wife moved to Wyoming. The couple later wintered in Surprise, Ariz.Henry is survived by his loving wife, Madeleine; and their five children, Chris Lingren and husband, Steven of Perry, Iowa, Michele Gagen of Cora, Wyo., Kevin Fabritz and wife, Jacque of Seal Beach, Calif., Kaye Tyler and husband, Don of Rock Springs, Wyo., Scott Fabritz and wife, Debbie of Waterman, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, Jessica Bruere, Nicole Shearer and husband, Jay, Rick Geisler, Emily Geisler, Brooke Lingren, Sean Fabritz, Alissa Fabritz, Sam Fabritz, Amber Kendall and husband Jeremy, Cody Fabritz, Connor Fabritz; and three great-grandchildren, Cameron Fabritz, Dylan Kendall and Brianna Bruere.Henry was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Daniel Fabritz.He will be remembered fondly by his family and friends as a devoted husband and father, loving grandfather, and loyal friend.

Union Hills Drive, Peoria, Ariz.A private family memorial will be held Friday, March 21, 2008 at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel in Sun City West, Ariz.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Parkinson Foundation or your local Hospice agency.
