Ron Palmer, age 68, of Ottumwa, Iowa, formerly of Aledo, Ill., died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at the home of his sister, Carol Cunningham in Aledo. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Aledo. Burial is in the Viola cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo, where memorials may be left to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital. He was born November 8, 1939, in Aledo, a son of Clarence LeRoy and Flora Barron Palmer. He married Beverly Maden-Mueller October 21, 1961, in Belleville, Ill.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly; a daughter and son-in-law, Margie and Mike Wigans; a granddaughter, Mikaela Hoover; 2 step-grandsons, Zach and Stewart Wigans all of Muscatine, Iowa; 2 sisters, Marlene Johnson of Abington, Ill., and Carol Cunningham of Aledo; 1 brother, Marvin Palmer of Eliza, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. His parents, 2 infant sisters and 2 infant brothers preceded him in death.
