OTTUMWA - Anna Gertrude Schorr, 93, of Grand Rapids, Mich., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 5, 2004.
Gertrude was a native of Iowa and resided in Grand Rapids for the last nine years.
She was born Aug. 20, 1911, in Ottumwa to Andrew Sigmund and Anna Swope Herrmann. She married Max Schorr Oct. 26, 1935; they were married 60 years.
Her husband worked for the Milwaukee Railroad for 50 years. They resided in Cedar Rapids and Clinton before returning to Ottumwa in 1973.
She was a faithful and active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ottumwa.She is survived by two sons, Phillip (Jeannette) Schorr of St. Louis, Mo., and John (Edna) Schorr of Grand Rapids, Mich.; five grandchildren, Todd (Deborah) Schorr, Cathy (John) Ivey, Susan (Brian) Berce, Paul (Ann) Schorr, Phil Schorr; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Fran Reedquist and Alice Fulton.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Orra Mullenix and Harriett Cole; and a brother, John Herrmann.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Elgin officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
