Walter S. Baker 88 years old; a resident of Ottumwa for the past forthy-eight years died at 5:00 a.m at his home; 912 N. Ash St.

He had been in ill health for the past seven years.

Mr. Baker was a member of the Local I.O.O.F. lode number nine for the past forty five years.

Surving are his wife Edith Baker; his son Alva Baker at home; a daughter Mrs. Eugene Silver of Chicago; one brother Frank Baker of Washington State; a sister Mary Baker of Chicago, and one grandaughter Mrs. Lelah Whitsel living at their home.

The body has been removed to Daggett funeral home until where it will remain until the funeral services will be arranged.
