COUNTY NATIVE DIES HERE AT 87

Dave Elkins 87, died at 3:00 a.m. today at the Ben Houk residence, 1058 Tuttle St. where he had been living.

He was born in Wapello County March 3, 1873, the son of Edgar and Mary Huffman Elkins and had lived all of his life in County. He was a retired farmer and the last of a family of seven children.

Several nieces and nephews survive.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Johnson funeral chapel with the Rev. Keith Knauss; pastor of the Calvary Baptist church in charge. Burial will be in the Ormanville cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Hen Houk, Roy Orman, Eugene Orman, and Charley George.
