OTTUMWA — Donald Francis Lee of Cottonwood, Calif., passed away Dec. 18, 2007, in Redding, Calif.Born May 5, 1918 in Ottumwa, Iowa. He graduated from O.H.S. in 1938.

Mr. Lee joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served during W.W. II. After his Navy service he joined the Ottumwa Police Department as an officer and medically retired in 1957.

Moving to So. Calif., he finished his career with the Santa Fe Railroad. Mr. Lee personally rebuilt a railroad hand car that was used in the TV series, Petticoat Junction.

He was predeceased by his sister, Helen; brother, Ralph; wife, Doris; and second wife, Melba.He is survived by his daughter, Carol of Anderson, California; sons, John of Williams, Ariz., Jack of Anderson, Calif., Terry of Yuba City, Calif., 25 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.He will be loved and missed by all of his family and friends.

Private services will be held.Allen and Dahl Funeral Chapel, Anderson, Calif. is in charge of arrangements.
