AGENCY — Wapello County Iowa-Beatrice “Bea” McDowell, 81, formerly of Agency, died at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 22, 2007, at the Clearview Home in Clearfield, Iowa.

She was born June 24, 1926, in Agency, Iowa, to Roscoe and Marie Durflinger McCarroll.She married A. Eugene McDowell on August 17, 1946. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1994.

She graduated from Agency High School and Iowa School of Beauty. She owned and operated Bea’s Beauty Shop for many years in Agency.Bea was a member of the Agency United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, bowling and traveling.

Surviving are a multitude of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Marvel McCarroll of Fairfield, Carol McCarroll of Agency, Ronald and Patricia McDowell of Blakesburg, Harley and Lois McDowell of Ottumwa and Aurelia McDowell of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leonard and Junior McCarroll; and a sister, Beverly McCarroll.Her body has been cremated.Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the Batavia Cemetery with Rev. Robert Dvorak officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Agency United Methodist Church.
