Fred Brubaker 88, of 1020 Richmond died at 11:25 a.m. Friday Nov. 18, 1983 at Ottumwa Hospital.

He was born Oct. 13, 1895 at Mahaska County to Edward and Lydia Coleman Brubaker. He was a World War I Veteran serving from July 1918 to June 30, 1919. He was a member of the Williard Street Methodist Church and the church's Friendship Group. A retired farmer he moved to Ottumwa in 1959. He married Hazel E. Tredkeld on Nov. 27, 1919 at Oskaloosa.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter Helen D. Copeland of Ottumwa; three sisters Mary Lane of South English. Alice Shannon of Gladwyne Pa., and Caryl Augustine of Eddyville, and one grandaughter.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home; the Rev. Wilbert Trusheim of Williard Strret Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Cemetery at Oskaloosa.

Active pallbearers will be Willard Dennison, Gary Dennison, Max Ohms, Ernest Hunziker, ReldenHance and Russel Benson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Verl Dawson, Gay Anderson, Ernest Newquist, Russell Wise, Harold Davis and Carey Schwartz.
