OTTUMWA — Wilodean E. Ginsburg, 98, of 224 N. Benton, died peacefully at her home at 11:55 p.m. June 13, 2007.

She was born Dec. 2, 1908 in Eddyville to Earl Everett and Elizabeth E. Brown McElroy. She married Harold I. Ginsburg Jan. 4, 1938 and he preceded her in death Sept. 1, 1985. They were married 47 years.

A graduate of Blakesburg High School, Iowa Success School and Ottumwa Beauty Academy, she was an instructor at Ottumwa Beauty Academy. She owned and operated My Fair Lady Beauty Salon for over 40 years, retiring in 1981.

Wilodean was devoted to her family and always had a place for anyone at her table. She was a past president of Hadassah.

Surviving is a sister, Madeline E. Gobble of Ottumwa; two daughters, Joyce (Michael J.) Karon of Barrington, Ill. and Sandi Kaye Tiegs of Ottumwa; a son, David (Sharon) Ginsburg of Davenport; four grandchildren, Randy Lyn (Barbara Laughlin) Karon, Debby Karon (Roger) Rowsey, Sekeeta Aimee Tiegs, Michaella (Franz Jr.) Wagner; three great-grandchildren, Claire Elizabeth Karon, Benjamin Asher Karon and Alexis Lauren Tiplitzkey.

Her body has been cremated.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23 at St. Joseph Chapel at Ottumwa Regional Health Center Alta Vista Site. Inurnment will be in the Ottumwa Jewish Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to Hospice, 312 E. Alta Vista, Ottumwa, Iowa 52501.
