Robert Flack

Robert Franklin Flack, 78, of New London, formerly of Ottumwa, died Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.

Born Jan. 8, 1929, in OTTUMWA, he was the son of Henry and Lena Broomfleet Flack. On Sept. 18, 1948, he married Vivian Doud in Nashua.

Mr. Flack was a salesmen for Meadow Gold, and retired as a truck driver from Golden Eagle Distributing, both in Ottumwa.

He served in the Army for two years, where he graduated high school on a ship in Japan.

He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of Mount Pleasant; three daughters, Ginger Juhl of New London, Connie Bridger of Salton City, Calif., and Linda Wheaton of Dunbar, Neb.; one son, Stanley Flack of Ottumwa; seven grandchildren; five great–grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Stout of Cedar Rapids and Rosemary Kerr of Oskaloosa; and one brother, Don Flack of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Chapel in New London, where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

According to Mr. Flack's wishes, his body will be cremated after visitation.

There will be no formal funeral service.

A memorial has been established.
