Ottumwa CourierOTTUMWA — Shirley J. Adamson, 67, of Ottumwa, died peacefully with her family at her side, Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Paradise Valley Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz.
Shirley was born July 23, 1939 in Ottumwa to William and Leona Headley. She was united in marriage to Otto “Pee Wee” Adamson on Oct. 6, 1956.
Her joy in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother and spending time with family and friends. Shirley and her husband enjoyed many years of camping, fishing and traveling and never met a stranger along the way.
She is survived by her husband, Otto; daughters, Jennifer (Mike) Stevenson of Phoenix, Ariz. and Wendy (Craig) McBee of Bloomfield, Iowa; four grandsons, Billy and Nathan Stevenson of Phoenix, Ariz., Justin and Bo McBee of BLOOMFIELD, Iowa; a sister, Lillian (Norman) West; brothers, Jim (Mabel) Headley and Orville Headley, all of OTTUMWA, Iowa; and a brother, Earl (Marjorie) Headley of Federal Heights, Colo.
Her parents, William and Leona; a sister, Emmie Dyke; brothers, Don, Arnold, Tobe and Walt Headley and twin infant sons preceded her in death.
Cremation has been accorded per her wishes.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Ottumwa, Iowa.
