Beulah Smith, 86, Ottumwa

OTTUMWA — Beulah Smith, 86, formerly of Ottumwa, died Thursday, April 19th, 2007, at the Mercy Medical Center in Iowa City.

Beulah was born Sept. 16, 1920 in Bloomfield, Iowa to Clay and Pearl Bowlar Dearborn. She married Kenneth Mather Smith on Nov. 28, 1940 in Bloomfield, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 1st, 1976.

Beulah was a member of the Willard Street Methodist Church and had retired from Evans Middle School Cafeteria.

Surviving are two sons, Stewart Smith from Ottumwa and Charles Smith (Lydia) from Honolulu, Hawaii; one brother, Otis Dearborn of Bloomfield, one sister, Blanche Stufflebeam of Iowa City and one grandchild, Kirk Allen Smith of Johnston.

Beulah is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Verna Coffman; and one brother, Ralph Dearborn.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 21st, 2007, at 10 a.m. at the Shrine of Memories Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Luers officiating.

Visitation will begin on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Shrine of Memories Funeral Home with the family present from 4-6 p.m. Interment will be at the Shrine of Memories Mausoleum.

Memorials can be made to Willard Street Methodist Church in memory of Beulah.

Shrine of Memories Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
