Pearl H. Akerman, 90, of 2652 N. Court died at 12:05 a.m. Sept. 23 in St. Joseph Hospital.

She was born Jan. 20, 1890, in Wapello County to James and Alice Carson Hollingsworth. She married Fred Akerman Dec. 2, 1916, in Fremont. He died on July 26, 1972.

Survivors: a sister, Mae Inman of Ottumwa.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jay Funeral Home, the Rev. Henry Riegel of Wesley Methodist Church officiating. Burial: Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Memorial: to St. Joseph Hospital.

The casket will be closed as the service begins.
