MAURICE MCDAVITT

Ottumwa native Maurice "Mickey" McDavitt, 76, died April 30, 1984 at his home in Conesville after an extended illness. He was born Dec 28, 1907, at Ottumwa to Hugh and Catherine Roach McDavitt. He was a food service worker at University Hospitals in Iowa City until 1973, when her retired. He was a member of St. Jospeh's Church in Columbus Junction. He is survived by his wife of Conesville; a daughter Catherine Gartzke of Conesville; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; six brothers, Francis, John, Walter, Paul, Raymond and Mark, all of Ottumwa; two sisters, Margaret Bruns and Agnes Armentrout of Ottumwa. The service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction. Burial will be in the Conesville Cemetery. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. Wednesday. A general memorial has been established.
