OBITUARY

NELS HALL (JR.) was born in Sweden Feb. 11, 1839, died May 17, 1907, at his home in this city after a lingering illness at the time of his death he was 68 years, 3 months and 6 days old. He came to this country when 16 years old. May 20, 1863 he was united in marriage to EMMA PETERSON, a native of Sweden, and to this union were born five children: JOHN W., who died in infancy, CHAS E., FRANK W., GUY F., ELLA AUGUSTA PEARL.

In the death of NELS HALL Blakesburg,Iowa and vicinity has lost from her list the name of a most honorable citizen, the name of a man who lived not alone for himself but for those about him. His reputation for truth and integrity was without reproach. For many years he lived with his family on the old homestead northeast of this place until recent years when he moved to Blakesburg,Iowa to enjoy rest and comfort with his companion as the sunlight of their lives waned toward the twilight of the western horizon. His death is mourned by his wife who will miss the devotion of a kind husband, four children who will feel the loss of their father's wise and protecting council as well as the community at large who deeply regret the demise of NELS HALL.

COMMENT: NELS HALL, JR. was the son of NELS HALL SR. and CECELIA (aka SISLY) GUNISON HALL. Burial is in the Munterville Cemetery; Wapello County, Iowa.
