ELIAS KITTERMAN

The above Bio sketch has several mistakes. ELIAS'S mother was ANNA DANNER. It has not been proven yet if she was from Pennsylvania or if her parents were from Pennsylvania. She married HARRY KITTERMAN March 08 1785 and was baptized June 11, 1788, both events occurred in St Peter's Lutheran Church, Frederick County, Maryland.
ELIAS'S father, HARRY KITTERMAN was a native of Frederick County, Maryland and the son of CHRISTOPER and CHRISTINA KITTERMAN.
No land record has been found showing ANNA DANNER KITTERMAN ever bought a track of land in Indiana. She did not file a homestead claim in Indiana.
ANNA DANNER KITTERMAN was a Lutheran when she arrived in Indiana in 1820. No record has been found that shows she changed her religion to the United Brethren.
ELIAS was born in Franklin County, Virginia, near Sydnorsville and spent the first 11 years of his life in that area. The next 23 years in Harrison and Perry counties of Indiana. No proof has been found to date if ELIAS ever went to school and if he did was it in Virginia or Indiana or both.
MARY ANN KITTERMAN, first daughter of ELIAS, married MARTIN KOONTZ in Wapello County, Iowa, April 11, 1849. MARTIN KOONTZ was a native of Ohio. Between 1851 and 1853 they moved to Washington, then to Oregon and finally to California.
