JACKSON

I just discovered that my great, great, great grandmother's name was Louisa Jackson, daughter of Augustus Jackson, a minister in the United Brethren Church in Van Buren County, IA. She married John Hedrick (my maternal grandmother's maiden name) in 1850 and they left Iowa for the Oregon trail with the Charles Drain Party in 1852. They settled in the town now called "Drain" and had several children. I am hoping that someone might be able to tell me about The Jackson Family, Louisa was the oldest of seven children. I do know that Augustus Jackson and his second wife, Melinda Jane, and their two children crossed the plains to Oregon in the 1870's. They settled in Drain where he died in 1882. Please let me know if anyone has information about this. Thank you!
