Your query mentions Beden Davis and James M Davis. I have just recently started searching for info on Elizabeth Davis and her son Thomas Jefferson Davis from Des Moines Twp, VB County, IA dating from the mid-1800's. I noticed in the 1832 Register of Pioneer Association for VB County that both Beden Davis and Elizabeth Davis are listed as original pioneers. The booklet infers no relation; however, if both were in Des Moines Twp around the 1840 time frame - one wonders if there might be some relation? To appear in the booklet, I believe individuals had to be in VB County by 1841 or before.

If you have any further insights, I would greatly appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!
