I have been researching the Jack Family and would like to know more about a listing on Findagrave for Frank Jack (Findagrave memorial ID: 165229873)
What I know:
William Jack (b. 1827 McConnelsville, Morgan County, Ohio - d. 1905 Bentonsport, VanBuren County, Iowa)
married
Mary Jane Fox (b. 1828 McConnellsville, Morgan County, Ohio - d. 1908 Bentonsport, Van Buren County, Iowa)They had three sons, all born in Ohio
George W Jack (b.1863-d.1880) He died in a fire - burns - and is buried in Oak Grove cemetery in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio.
Prentice Burdette Jack (b. 1861 - d. ????) He came out to Bentonsport, IA with his parents sometime in the 1880s. Married a local gal & lived a full life.
And the oldest,
William Franklin Jack (b.1857- d. ????). He married a local Marietta, OH gal, and had two daughters. Clara C lived just a few months in 1881. His wife, Celia Alice (Allie) Hill died of consumption in 1882 - she’s buried in Oak Grove cemetery with Clara and her brother-in-law.
They had an older daughter born in 1879 - Eva Burdette Jack. I find her in the 1900 census in Marietta - but no Frank or William Franklin Jack. Eva went on to marry Mr. Hanna (they eloped in WV) and lived a full life so far as I can tell.
I have conflicting information- the microfilm record on Ancestry/Family Search lists Mrs. Frank Jack as having died of consumption on 5 Apr 1882. But Findagrave and others have listed Frank Jack as having died then. I have another Ohio county death record for Ally Jack 5 Apr 1883. But I can’t find any death records for William Franklin Jack - in Ohio or Iowa.
Except for the one listing on FindAGrave…which when I inquired I was told it came from “cemetery books”
Is there any information about Frank Jack? Is he the same as William Franklin Jack, father of Eva Burdette?
Thank you so much for your help
