I am researching my great grandpa Albert Preston Meredith. His birthday is 5 October 1867.
The 1870 Census for Harrisburg, Van Buren, IA shows him as Albert Lucas in the home of J. T. & Mahala Meredith.
In 1880 he is Albert Meredith in the same home. Relationship is adopted son. Occupation states Illegitimate. The death certificate states His father as Meredith and his mother as Mary Jane Stone.
1880 Fed Census listed Mary Jane Stone as Pauper in home with others on census
