On the Van Buren Co. IA GenWeb site, you should be able to find info on the Sherrod family in the 1860 census, living in Union Township.

Do a thorough search of the resources on the GenWeb site and you should find this name several times. I also find them under the marriage index. Also in the 1870 census index.

There was a family in our local genealogy library just last week from Virginia? researching this surname. Was that you by chance?
