I would like to see my grandmother listed as daughter of Eli Doud. She was born July 5,1861 and died of TB July 24, 1913. Was was not treated well by the family because of divorce when Winfield Tilden took off with his head seamstress at his shirt factory and left Rosa to fend for herself with three children. She married Irons who worked on Indian reservations. It was there her oldest boy Carl age eleven died in her arms of lockjaw. Rosa was then put in Clarinda State Hospital as a mental patient where she came down with TB. She is buried in an unmarked grave with her son Carl at the Woodland Cemetary in Des Moines Iowa. Block 22, Lot 139. I went there and stood on her grave. I also saw the huge Doud markers at cemetary in Douds Iowa and it is very sad that I can't afford to buy a marker to put on Rosa Douds grave. The least that could be done is to list her as an offspring of Eliab Doud and Whitten who must have been very mean parents to have not helped her in any way but just outcast her along with my father Paul Tilden who was their grandson.
