In Response To: Eva Pearl Marriott (Iva Hawthorne)

I located a birth for Eva Marriott in Henry, Van Buren County, Iowa to Otto and Julia Marriott. She was born on November 5, 1903. Eva married James Hayes Wilson on November 3, 1923 in Ottumwa, Wapello County, Iowa according to Wapello County Marriage Records.

According to the following obituary for Eva's father, Otto Greef Marriott [June 29, 1880 --- October 3, 1972], he was survived in 1972 by his daughter, Mrs. Eva Wilson of Fairfield, Iowa. The Social Security Death Index has a James Wilson who was born February 5, 1895 dying in Fairfield in November, 1968. The obituary for Otto also lists a grandson, Dr. James D. Wilson. Muscatine County, Iowa marriage records for June 9, 1951 have a J. Donald Wilson marrying. He was listed as the son of J. H. Wilson and Eva Marriott. A further search for Eva Pearl (Marriott) Wilson located in the Oregon Death Index an Eva Pearl Wilson who was born on November 5, 1903 (matches the Iowa Birth Register) dying on August 26, 1980 in Baker County, Oregon. Her spouse was listed as James which also matches. Hope this helps.
