it is my understanding that my Carter family migration goes something like this Va , Ky, Ind to Ill and some on to Iowa. About 1820 to 1830 I believe there was a Nicholas Carter and his sister Lavina Carter Barrett married to a Thomas Barrett of Va. Nic and Lavinia parents where John and Catherine Barrett Carter of Hardin co KY. Love to share information with you.
