There is a web site with historical maps that has a 1903 Iowa map by Rand McNally showing rail lines in the state. There were three that went through Van Buren County at that time:

Northern (Ft. Madison to Ottumwa via Stockport and Birmingham): Chicago, Burlington, & Kansas City.

Middle (north side of the Des Moines River, Keokuk to Ottumwa via Farmington, Bonaparte, Bentonsport, Mt. Zion with spur to Keosauqua, Kilborn, Douds, Selma): Chicago, Rock Island, & Pacific.

South (Ft. Madison to Bloomfield via Farmington, Mt. Sterling, Cantril, Milton): Chicago, Burlington, & Quincy

The same web site has a 1925 Rand McNally Iowa map that's similar in content. By then, both the northern and southern routes through Van Buren County were labeled Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy. The line that ran up the north side of the Des Moines River was still the Chicago, Rock Island, & Pacific.

The map site is www.davidrumsey.com
