F. W. Whitlock and others purchased for $5000 the East Half of Lot 2, and Lots 8 and 9 in Block 2 of the original town plat of Bonaparte filed in January of 1842. This sale was made March 13, 1866 and was recorded on April 16, 1866 in Book 1, Page 331.
When I get my computer problems solved, I should have more images of this building taken at the turn of the last century. The building was on the SE corner of Main and 2nd streets. Sanborn fire maps exist for this town from 1893, 1893 1090 and 1927.
