Thank you very much for your response.
Regarding the picture for Mary, aged 2 years, dau. of AC & Eveline, that would be my great-aunt. AC Etzler is my great great grandfather. AC Etzler and Eveline Perkins lived in Folker, Clark County, MO. I have found them in the 1850 and 1860 census. AC must have died between about 1861 and 1865 or so. Eveline moved to California and can be traced through some census records there.
The picture of Mary's grave stone is very important to me, and, yes I have found previously. It was important to me because it proved to me that AC and Eveline were at least quasi-associated with Van Buren County. Knowing that led me to research other Etzler's in Van Buren, which is how I found Matilda, Thomas, and John.
I thank you for your response regarding the census records with John Etzler. I had previously found those as well.
The other gravestone, which appears to begin the name "Alfred" is interesting, though at this point I'm not sure how it would tie in.
If you have any perspective you'd like to share on this area of the country I'd appreciate it. For example, I can assume given the physical proximity of Clark County and Van Buren county that life crossed that border relatively frequently. But I don't know that for sure. Or, regarding the Blackledge family - were they a prominent family? I know they have a cemetary named after them... was it a family cemetary or were other members of the community buried there? And, what resource presents a reasonable starting point for looking for records that can't be found on ancestry.com? Ie, a marriage record (potentially) between Matilda Etzler and Myers P. Van Auken?
Appreciate your help.
Robert
