Jacob B. Swasey was the son of Heneneal Morrill Swasey and Eliza Ann Bovee (some sources say that her last name was Boree BUT Jacob B. Swasey's own son John was John Bovee Swasey on his WWI draft registration. Jacob B. was born abt 1827 in Vermont. It appears that the entire family moved to Iowa between 1836 and 1842. Jacob B.'s siblings were Abigail O. (I suspect Osgood) b. abt 1829 VT, George C. (I suspect Calhoun) b abt 1831 VT, Horace Fairbanks b abt 1833/4 VT, Hiram Hayes b abt 1836 VT (or Iowa, depends on the dates of the Black Hills War as Heneneal, Jacob Bs father was a Captain under brother Gen. Ezekial Swasey, his brother, Heneneal Morrill b abt 1842 Iowa(my great great grandfather) and Cora b abt 1844 Iowa. I strongly suspect that Jacob B. was Jacob Bovee Swasey.
