Clarinda Fancher Thornton Carr

Clarinda nee Fancher Thornton was my 3rd grt grandmother. Married James Thornton in Ohio (my line) and had 4 kids. James died likely between 1837 and 1840 and Clarinda married widower John (or Jehu) Carr. They had at least 3 kids. They are in 1850 and 1856 (state) censuses for Locust Grove Twp, Jefferson Co. (Under Jno Kerr in former and "Jahn Carr" in latter.)

Here is the problem: they then disappear.

People put her death between 1886 and 1904 in Kilbourn, VAN BUREN, Iowa, but give no sources. Some get so specific as to give dates of death (24 Aug 1886), and a date of burial (30 Aug 1886) but in ELDON, Wapello Co!

I expect her surname was either Carr or Palmer at the time of her death. Can any kind soul shed any light on this?
