I wish to make contact and share some Woodruff family history with the descendants of the Maj. E.J. Woodruff and Jacob Woodruff families, who settled in or near Big Grove [now Oakland], IA, o/a 1850, as well as the offspring of those folks who I believe lived in that area of Van Buren County at least until 1880.

The 1850 Van Buren County Census lists Jacob Woodruff as well as his wife, Mary, and their children William and James.

An 1856 Van Buren County Census lists Maj. E.J. Woodruff, a widower, and his children William T., James W. (Wilson), Mary E., and Samuel T. I am especially interested in the descendants of James and Samuel Woodruff.
