In Response To: Samuel and Sarah Kimmel Rail (Valorie Richards)

I have some similar names in my lines, too. One of my gr-grandfather's brothers was Thomas Steele (1806-1883). One of Thomas' wives was Sarah Jane Ferren Kimmel (1824-1914). The information I have says that her first husband was Oliver Lewis Kimmel. My info is scanty on them, but I do have a bit more. They were in Appanoose Co. Iowa, according to what I have. I have forwarded your message to a "cousin" of mine in Iowa, who is a descendant of Thomas Steele and Sarah Jane Ferren Kimmel, and has a lot more on this line, which is her direct line. I have also heard that there is a Jamison connection to my Steele family, too, although I haven't researched that yet. Let me know what you think. My Steeles were in Van Buren Co. around 1850, as late as 1864, when they left in covered wagons headed West, from Centerville, Iowa. Sherry Steele (Seattle)
