Gone to Rest.

Henry K. Hennigh was born in Center county, Pennsylvania, November 20th, 1818, and grew to manhood in that state. He graduated from the Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania, in 1841. Was licensed to preach in 1842, and continued his ministry for fifty years. He was married to Miss Rebecca J. Surface, January 17, 1843. To them were born five children, three sons and two daughters. One son died in infancy and one gave his life in the service of his country. He moved to New Castle, Indiana, in July, 1866, and from there to Linn county, Iowa, in 1870. From there he moved to Van Buren county, Iowa, where he spent the rest of his life, living first in Bentonsport and afterward in Bonaparte, except four years, from 1879 to 1883, that he lived in Bardolph, Illinois. He departed this life April 9, 1892, aged 73 years, 4 months and 19 days, after a ministry of fifty years and a married life of more than forty-nine years. He had been a sufferer for three years. He leaves to mourn his loss, his companion and one son, M. L. Hennigh, of Brooklyn, Indiana, and two daughters, Mrs. Mary E. Newland, of Evanston, Illinois, and Mrs. Belle R. Riggle, of Bonaparte. Also nine grand-children, seven living and two dead, and three great-grand-children.

The funeral services were held at the residence Tuesday at 2 p. m. by Rev. Knight of Fairfield, who preached a short sermon from the words, "I have fought a good fight." A selected choir sand, "Jesus Lover of my soul," "Asleep in Jesus," and "Come unto me."

Rev. Barber then read this printed sketch. The large number of people present and relatives then took a last sad view of the remains, when the pall bearers conveyed them to the hearse, and the procession wended its way to the cemetery, and laid the lamented one to rest.

There were two beautiful floral pieces. The pall bearers were A. McDonald, Wm. Beard, A. Steadman, W. E. Smith, Geo. Lineaweaver, John Lisle, J. Robinson, S. H. Blackburn.

The following list of Honorary pall bearers for Rev. Hennigh was overlooked last week. The name were written on both sides of the paper was the reason.: J. D. Israel, Jacob Wolf, M. Wolf, Wm. Beard, J. Z. Barnett, J. F. Perkins, J. G. Whiteley, W. W. Entler, Mr. Kerr.
