W. W. "BUZZ" McINTOSH
Wyatt W. McIntosh, son of William and Dora Smith McIntosh, was born January 27, 1895 at Pittsburg and departed this life at his home in Keosauqua early Saturday, July 1, 1978 at the age of 83.
On September 27, 1930, he married Lenora May Huff. She remains to cherish his memory along with their son, William, of Keosauqua, their daughter Mary Ann Anderson and her husband Steve of Ainsworth, a grandson, Corey Anderson; a sister, Dorothy McIntosh of Keosauqua, other relatives and many friends. His parents, three brothers, two sisters, and a son Jimmy Dale preceded him in death.
"Buzz" as he was known to his friends, worked for Van Buren County for 18 years, for Iowa Electric Co. for 11 years, and was a self-employed electrician until his retirement.
He was a long-time member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a good neighbor and friend.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 3, 1978, at 2 p.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, with Rev. Harold Schnedler officiating. Pallbearers were John Orr, Richard Casady, Clyde Sprouse, Joe Hamlet, Walter Casady, and Roger Kirchner. Interment was in Center Chapel Cemetery. A memorial was established for the Easter Seal Society or Center Chapel Cemetery.
(Photocopy of this obit is located on page 142 of Obit Book #2 (1975-1980) found in the Van Buren County, IA Genealogical Society's collection at the Keosauqua Public Library in July 1999. Name of newspaper and date of obit not given, however, handwritten at the top is "6 July 1978 Rec Rep."
