Died at the age of thirty-six years,
near Troy, and Buried
at Birmingham.
OBITUARY SKETCH.

Many people in Bonaparte were shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Mrs. Henry BEARD of Pulaski. Mr. and Mrs. Beard came to Bonaparte about five years ago and this was their home for three years. During that time Mrs. Beard made many friends who mourn her untimely death. In 1900 the family moved to Eldon where they lived until July of this year when they moved on a farm south-west of Pulaski. About two months ago there was sickness in the family of her sister, Mrs. Ira Evans, near Troy, and Mrs. Beard went to help. While there she took sick with typhoid fever and after an illness of six weeks died, November 30.

The funeral services were held at the home of her parents, near Troy on Monday, December 1, at 2 p. m., Rev. Daly of the Troy M. E. church officiating. The remains were taken to Birmingham for burial.

Eliza Jane Gilchrist, better known as Jennie, was born in June, 1865. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Gilchrist, and one of thirteen children. December 17, 1886 [could be 1885], she united in marriage with Henry BEARD. That year she became a member of the M. E. church at Cantril, and her lovely Christian character has made for friends, always. She was especially loved by her own relatives. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband, and daughter, Eva, a girl about fourteen years of age, their only child, also her parents and brothers and sisters.
